BBC pushes into Australian production sector

The biggest, hairiest, most enticing international broadcaster arrives to play in the Australian production market. Do we run for the hills or hit the BBC up for a job?

The BBC has launched a production arm in Australia, badged as BBC Studios, with a strong focus on format and factual, with no direct mention so far of drama or children’s. It is seeking a creative head to lead production who will be responsible to the emerging international production division, soon to be run by Anna Mallett, Managing Director, Production and Chief Operating Officer of BBC Studios.
