Dumbo flaps his ears tonight, though the critics are unhappy with its story, the unevenness and the lack of passion. The remake of Disney’s 1941 animation allegedly curdles in the sinister hands of Tim Burton whose baroque, decadent sensibility goes badly with a small vulnerable elephant.
