This week saw MIFF opener The Australian Dream finally hit the box office. After an enthusiastic critical reception on the festival circuit, this considered reflection of Adam Goodes’ story opened on 101 screens to make $164,972. That’s a screen average of $1,633. It’s a good taking for a documentary, but after the film’s critical acclaim, we had dared to dream a little bigger for this lyrical documentary.
