Image: Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings is making its cult audience very happy.

The Breaker Upperers is stable on 227 screens which is wide for a chirpy NZ flick via Madman. In two weeks it has made $1.6m, now at $1947/screen.That is generally a dumpster figure but we get this one will run and run.

After all as Victorian state minister for the arts, Martin Foley, told the opening night MIFF audience, we make a lot of noble important films but it would be great if we could do something light and make people laugh.
