The major regional broadcasters, with Tim Fisher as their figurehead, are running a campaign to get regional people to tell the government to deregulate. Why? In order to protect local broadcasting, say the companies. Maybe they have an ulterior motive? 

Dr Vincent O’Donnell, historian and policy commentator, has been digging into this obscure but fascinating corner of media politics.
