Who better to understand the context of the attacks on the ABC than a historian. Enter Dr O’D, with a Catholic Prime Minister, a report which turned on its government, a second report buried so deep under concrete even the Opposition wouldn’t release it, and the consequences of a previous wave of privatisation.

It is a powerful irony that the successors to the founders of the Australian Broadcasting Commission, Catholic Prime Minister Joseph Lyons and his United Australia Party (UAP), are now seemingly set upon its destruction.
