SPA 2014: classic television producers hold high ground

Much has been said in recent years about the writer’s role in TV drama as the industry is increasingly embracing the ‘showrunner’ model. This process has also seen the rise of the ‘non-writing creative producer’ as a key linchpin in navigating between the show and the networks. In the US that includes the studios.  

With his partner David Marr, David Taylor from Playmaker Media has had a successful year. The Code picked up great reviews and more importantly ratings, while House Husbands and Love Child have both been reordered.
