Screen Forever 2015: top competitors in a small ecology

There's a small production company in Alice Springs that will ring with joy over the Screen Producers Awards, as it proves the general point about diversity.

At the Gala Awards and Discreetly Crazed Connections Frenzy which climaxes the annual Screen Forever conference which in turn climaxes the working year for Screen Producers Australia, presenter James Mathison worked very hard. His task, beyond a dry sense of humour and the wrangling of an occasional sombre sponsor, was to remind producers that they are in fact glamorous, exciting, insightful and important. For a man used to the fakery of shiny floor shows on commercial television that was a doddle.
