Michelle Guthrie: filling in the dots on potential new ABC head

Is Michelle Guthrie the new MD of ABC or not? The broadcaster is silent while journalists pick through her record.

As of Friday, the ABC has not conceded that Michelle Guthrie will be the new head of the ABC to replace Mark Scott in the middle of next year. 

Basically, the the​ory that she will be is a big fat scoop which the ABC must be regretting horribly as it bites its tongue in silence and wonders how the AFR found out.  But if the deal has not been done, Auntie would have spoken with considerable glee. Amanda Meade from the Guardian ‘confirms’ the news.  The AFR is triumphant.
