As Katrina Sedgwick, head of ABC TV Arts, says, ‘They’ve been so fantastic – we were all really sad that they have decided to call it a day. But on the other hand, they are retiring on a high.’

David and Margaret have offered themselves, their opinions and their playful snark to audiences for the past 28 years. Because they are clear about their taste and pretty consistent, they are a useful guide to cinema-goers, by treating the medium as an art form but also skewer their own pretensions.
