Melanie Coombs had the task of passing on this devastating news about Cris Jones, writer and director of The Death and Life of Otto Bloom. She was the producer of the film alongside Alicia Brown and Mish Armstrong.

Now, from nowhere, she has to tell his community that he died at home, suddenly, last Tuesday night. ‘He was on his way out to dinner with friends,’ she wrote in an email. ‘The Coroner’s investigations have found no obvious cause of death.’
