I am in an Australian film? How can that be? Image: Hugo Weaving in Hacksaw Ridge.

Hacksaw Ridge clearly benefitted from the AACTA awards. Total take was up by 19%, even though it dropped 26 screens to 204, while the screen average rose from a sad  $1,769/screen to $2375 – still not fabulous. But it has staying power, even as I suspect it will be flogged out of the multiplexes next weekend. $7.214m so far, and AU$81.65m in the US at the end of its run.
