Producer Sue Maslin has been working on The Dressmaker for five years now. She read and fell in love with the book written by Rosalie Ham, and realised that the author was someone she had known and in fact went to school with in the small Riverina town of Jerilderie. They hadn’t had any contact for about 30 years, but Sue got in touch, “and sure enough, she had written this wonderful, wonderful book which I optioned,” Sue said.
