Expressions of Interest – Internships and Work Integrated Learning with Perth Festival

We are an annually curated multi-genre arts festival in Perth, WA that showcases the very best of national and international film, theatre, circus, dance, literature and music. The Lotterywest Film season runs from November to April and the Perth Festival runs across February and March, but we are busy all year planning and preparing for delivery. Our team expands from a core team of 27 to over 200 at the peak of Festival – creating a unique, fast paced and ever-changing working environment.

We are offering a variety of unpaid internships for the 2020 Perth Festival in line with the details listed on our website: https://www.perthfestival.com.au/get-involved/work-with-us. All of our internships are focused on ensuring valuable learning experiences are acquired through exposure to practical workplace examples. We work with a number of different education institutes to ensure specific course criteria is met and support students with collating reports as required.

We will be looking for students that can demonstrate exceptional communication skills, strong computer literacy, creative problem solving skills and of course a passion for their field of study and / or the arts / events industry.

Our internships are highly sought after and the strongest applicants will be invited to go through a competitive process that involves at least one interview and a practical exercise. Working through this process is important learning in itself and we will provide constructive feedback to all applicants who successfully secure interviews.

We actively strive for diversity in our teams. Qualified applicants are considered for internships without regard to age, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability.

If you wish to apply for one of the internships below, please submit a cover letter and CV to humanresources@perthfestival.com.au by 15 June 2019. Please ensure your cover letter addresses the following:

  • Which internship you are applying for
  • Why you are the best fit for this internship
  • The three main things you are hoping to gain from the experience
  • Your ideal schedule / availability for participating in an internship (dates, hours and days)

We will respond to all applicants week commencing 17 June 2019 and will be running interviews in the first week of July for those who are selected for the second phase.
