Development and Investment Manager, Indigenous

Screen Australia’s Indigenous Department is recognised locally and internationally for its achievements. The celebrated team fosters and supports Indigenous talent and distinctive stories, maintaining the strong presence of Indigenous screen stories through development and production funding programs and innovative initiatives for practitioners. 

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and talented industry professional to join this team in the role of Development and Investment Manager.

Working collaboratively with the other members of the team, you will leverage your knowledge of Indigenous Australian screen culture and your creative experience producing, writing and/or script editing to evaluate project proposals, assess funding applications and manage a slate of funded projects across the Indigenous Department’s funding programs and initiatives. You will liaise with industry practitioners to provide information on funding opportunities, advice on applications and work closely with funded applicants to facilitate successful completion and delivery of projects. You will also be work with the team to manage practitioner workshops and initiatives

This is a busy role, requiring management of multiple projects simultaneously through all stages of the assessment, funding, contracting, development and production cycle so you will need excellent time management and organisational skills, in addition to your well-developed creative skills.  You will also need to have an understanding of production budgets, finance plans and commissioning processes.

The role will be located in either our Sydney or Melbourne office. Some domestic and international travel will be required as part of the role.
