The Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC) is the Southern Hemisphere’s premier gathering and marketplace for documentary and factual storytelling. AIDC 2024 will be held in Melbourne / Naarm at ACMI, Fed Square, from 3-6 March 2024, with an additional online international marketplace held 7-8 March 2024.
AIDC is an innovative and industry-leading annual event, welcoming industry players from across the globe to drive collaboration, development, and production and to inspire innovation and ignite social change. AIDC organises a marketplace for documentary and factual product, provides a space for networking to encourage collaboration between practitioners, showcases the work of Australian and international producers, and creates a forum to discuss content, craft, technology, and future directions.
The theme for AIDC 2024 is Frontlines: Shaping the Future of Documentary & Factual Storytelling, highlighting how practitioners, industry leaders and advocates strive to secure the future of the sector, ensure its sustainability, and pave the way for unique, bold and engaging nonfiction stories.
During its four days, AIDC 2024 will host over 40 informative sessions, panels and masterclasses, and welcome producers, filmmakers, and industry decision makers from Australia and around the world to participate in Australia’s only dedicated documentary and factual marketplace.
Applications for AIDC 2024’s curated pitch meetings program – Cut to the Chase – matching producers and decision makers, are now open.
AIDC 2024 will also host the prestigious 4th annual AIDC Awards, celebrating outstanding new works of documentary and factual storytelling.
