The St Kilda Film Festival opening night is on Friday – a shock to local socialites stuck in the usual time of a drizzly Thursday late in May. According to festival director Paul Harris, ‘We decided to delay it by a month. It is an experiment to make it a genuine winter event and 23 June is the shortest day of the year.
