About the Course

Learn the essential skills to be an asset on the camera team of any film or TV production. Taught by DP Caroline Constantine ACS, you’ll work with industry standard equipment (ARRI and SONY) in AFTRS state-of-the-art studios.

Over three intensive, practical weeks you will:

  • Develop skills in on-set procedures, focus pulling and rushes management
  • Gain a complete understanding of digital image capture processes
  • Learn best practice with professional cameras and equipment.

If your goal is to work in the camera department in film and TV production, this course will give you all the essentials skills to get started on your journey to DP. You’ll learn the workflow of data management from capture to post, about camera menu settings, methods of camera protection and maintenance, how to plan and prepare camera pre-production requirements, assemble and test a camera to meet requirements of a brief, practice the essential skill of focus pulling and all important onset protocols and etiquette.
