Astor Cinema: Melbourne icon saved from local school
Screen Hub Friday 24 August, 2012
The Astor is a plug ugly brick montrosity at one end of Melbourne`s Chapel Street, with a sad laundromat at the front. Behind this is a wonderful art deco picture palace, still its original size, one of very very few. It has been under threat, has been saved, and put under threat, and is now saved again.
