Rupert Murdoch`s News Limited has made a $1.97 billion bid (at $3.50 per share) for Consolidated Media Holdings. The deal would see News lift its shareholding in Foxtel to 50%, and its share of Fox Sports to 100%. Consolidated Media is 50% owned by James Packer, who has announced that he is supporting the bid.
