Series Mania, the extraordinary French festival of series television drama, has joined the Australian Centre for the Moving Image and Film Victoria to create an offshoot which will turn ACMI into seething mass of great TV over four days in July. Greer Simpkin, now a producer with David Jowsey, first suggested the idea to Katrina Sedgwick, the CEO of ACMI. Todd Abbott, producer of Please Like Me, then made the same suggestion, Sedgwick took it up with organisers in Paris, and it became a daunting reality. This is the first time it has been run outside Europe.
