The Companions (AC) in the General Division of the Order of Australia, lead out the hierarchy of the Queen’s Honour system in Australia. In a rare moment, this award has gone to Jill Bilcock, a modest Australian editor who has never fought for glory in her profession. Instead she simply made such beautiful work and brought such joy to her editing suite, that she has slowly become a truly beloved senior person.
