Tropfest stable after years of turmoil

This is the end of Act two in the Great Tropfest Drama - basically secure and growing in Parramatta. But where will Act three take us?

‘I’ve just turned 52’, said John Polson, ‘and Tropfest has been running for 26 years, so I’ve spend half my life dedicated to this brand’. 

Tropfest has been taken to the brink of destruction, until it was cancelled late in 2015, to emerge in February 2016 after a desperate search for funding. Still wobbling, it moved from Centennial Park to Parramatta a year later, in a deal with the council in which it provided daytime entertainment as well. It was trying to bounce back by growing.
