The Sydney Film Festival continues its relentless march to cultural glory, while its close neighbour Vivid manages to be a lot flashier in a GOOD way. 

Culturally alert people everywhere else in Australia have to admit they are a bit jealous of Vivid’s splendiferous projections and the sheer unfettered glory of the State Theatre.
