ABC Head of Television resigns in wave of change

Richard Finlayson, three years into the challenging job of running ABC TV, will leave in March.

Why is Richard Finlayson leaving? He won’t say and nobody else can really know. The press release is a masterpiece in bland. 

Finlayson has given no impression that he is tired of the ABC. Indeed, his particular brand of slightly folksy confidence backed by a solid understanding of the television landscape would be valuable in the current context.
