Berlin 2017 – True Blue, Emo, Mayonnaise and Casting JonBenet

The Berlinale's peculiar affair with Australian cinema continues in 2017, with a single film on the main program but honour in the young people's festival.

Kitty Green’s documentary Casting JonBenet is going from Sundance to the Berlin Film Festival to grace the Panorama program. This is great news but it is the sole Australian appearance in the conventional adult festival, barring late additions. National ownership is shared with the US as it was produced by Green with James Schamus and Scott Macaulay.
