With Christmas rolling towards us, we have a slight pause before the big US releases pound onto the screens. December 9 sees the release of La Scala: The Marriage of Figaro, with Exhibition on Screen: The Curious World of Hieronymus Bosch a day later. 

Will Hacksaw Ridge benefit from the results of the AACTA Awards? We will find out. The Fencer, I, Daniel Blake, The Light Between Oceans, One More Time With Feeling are all worth a look. The Room, a legendarily bad film, is back to create its pop-cult messiness.  Where Am I Going is still getting laughs about Italy.
